Eshan Malinga is a Sri Lankan fast bowler known for his energetic run-up, skiddy pace, and ability to attack the stumps. Born on 4 February 2001 in Ratnapura, he bats left-handed and bowls right-arm fast-medium. Malinga developed through domestic and emerging cricket before earning opportunities with Sri Lanka A, franchise teams, and the national side. His bowling is most effective when he maintains a full, aggressive length and uses natural movement to challenge batters early in an innings. He also possesses slower deliveries and yorkers, which make him useful during the closing overs of a T20 match. Exposure to competitions such as the Lanka Premier League, SA20, and the Indian Premier League has helped him learn from experienced players and adjust to different conditions.
