Editorial Policy
How we source, verify and publish cricket coverage on Zee Sports Updates.
What we publish
Zee Sports Updates covers cricket: international matches, ICC events, franchise leagues such as the PSL and IPL, domestic tournaments, squad announcements, player news, fixtures, rankings and statistics. We publish match reports, news articles, analysis and reference pages built from match and player data.
Sourcing and verification
Team news, squad announcements and match results are based on official sources — boards, tournament organisers, ICC releases and on-air broadcasts — or established cricket media. When a story is based on reports we have not independently confirmed, we attribute it and say so. We do not publish rumours as fact. Statistics on our data pages come from our own match database and are updated as results come in.
Who writes our content
Every article carries a byline naming its author. Our content is written and reviewed by our editorial team, led by Zaman (Editor), who is responsible for the accuracy of what we publish. Author pages describe who they are and list their recent work.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it — quickly and visibly. Factual errors are corrected in the article as soon as they are identified. See our corrections page for how to report an error and what happens when you do.
Advertising and editorial independence
Zee Sports Updates is funded by advertising. Advertisers have no influence over what we cover or how we cover it. Ads are served by third-party networks and are visually distinct from editorial content. We do not publish paid articles disguised as news; any sponsored content would be clearly labelled as such.
Updates to articles
Live and developing stories (squad news, injury updates, match coverage) are updated as new information arrives. Substantive updates change the article's modified date, which is reflected in our article metadata.
