Wanindu Hasaranga is one of Sri Lanka’s leading white-ball all-rounders, respected for his attacking leg-spin and lively lower-order batting. Born in Galle, he began his career as a pace bowler before developing into a wrist-spinner, a change that transformed his cricketing path. Hasaranga bowls with control, quick arm speed, and clever variations, including a difficult googly that often troubles batters in the middle overs. He is also an aggressive right-handed batter who can score rapidly and provide valuable runs near the end of an innings. Since making his international debut in 2017, he has become a regular match-winner for Sri Lanka and has represented franchise teams in major T20 competitions.
