About Lahiru Udara
Lahiru Udara is a Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batter whose career has been shaped by patience, domestic consistency, and a strong appetite for long innings. A right-handed player, he is comfortable opening the batting or taking responsibility near the top of the order. Udara prefers to settle at the crease, assess the bowling, and gradually expand his scoring options through drives, cuts, and well-placed strokes. Years of productive first-class cricket helped him earn opportunities with Sri Lanka, including a T20 international appearance in 2023 and a Test debut in 2025. Behind the stumps, he offers a dependable keeping option and brings valuable experience from domestic and franchise competitions. His ability to occupy the crease makes him particularly useful when a team needs stability after early wickets. With greater exposure at international level, Udara has the technique and temperament to turn domestic success into meaningful contributions for Sri Lanka across different match situations.
