About
Kusal Perera is a Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batter admired for his attacking left-handed stroke play. He usually bats near the top of the order, where his quick hands and fearless approach can place pressure on the bowling side. Perera is particularly strong when cutting, pulling, or driving through the off side, and he is willing to take calculated risks against both pace and spin. He made his international debut in 2013 and has represented Sri Lanka across all three formats. Over the years, injuries and periods of uneven form have interrupted his progress, but his ability to produce decisive innings has remained clear. As a wicketkeeper, he offers another practical option behind the stumps, although his batting is his main strength. When fully fit and settled at the crease, Perera can raise the scoring rate quickly, break a bowler’s rhythm, and give Sri Lanka momentum at the start of an innings.
