Charith Asalanka is a powerful Sri Lankan middle-order batter known for combining clean striking with a thoughtful understanding of match situations. A left-handed player, he is particularly effective against spin and can shift momentum through strong sweeps, drives, and shots over the boundary. Asalanka developed through school and youth cricket before captaining Sri Lanka at the Under-19 level, an experience that helped shape his leadership qualities.
