Abdul Samad hails from Faisalabad, Pakistan and is an aggressive right-handed batsman. He began his cricketing career at the local level and made his debut in first-class cricket in 2017. His fast batting and ability to hit long boundaries in domestic cricket quickly earned him recognition. His international debut came on 16 March 2025 in a T20 match against New Zealand, while he played his first ODI on 11 March 2026 against Bangladesh. Abdul Samad's journey in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been quite explosive. He made his PSL debut in season 10 for Peshawar Zalmi, where he impressed everyone with his hard-hitting. His innings of 40 runs off 14 balls against Multan Sultans established him as a dangerous finisher in the league. Due to his power-hitting, Peshawar Zalmi retained him for PSL 11 (2026), where he proved to be the strongest in the middle-order. In the recently concluded PSL 11 (2026) season, Abdul Samad played a key role in making Peshawar Zalmi the champion. He scored 132 runs in 11 matches throughout the tournament, and his strike rate was tremendous. The biggest highlight of the season was the final match, where he played a crucial innings of 48 runs off 34 balls against Hyderabad Kingsmen. Due to this performance, he was included in the tournament's "Team of the Tournament" as an "Impact Finisher".
