CPL 2026 Final: Falcons Beat Jamaica Kingsmen by 8 Wickets

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons won the Caribbean Premier League 2026 title after beating Jamaica Kingsmen by eight wickets in the final on September 20, 2026, at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. Jamaica Kingsmen batted first and finished on 170/9 in 20 overs. Antigua and Barbuda Falcons chased the 171-run target in 16.4 overs and ended the match on 173/2. The result gave the Falcons their first CPL title.

Maaz Sadaqat carried Jamaica Kingsmen’s batting with 114 runs from 58 balls. His innings included eight fours and nine sixes, and he remained the main source of runs while wickets continued to fall around him. Saim Ayub added 29 runs from 22 balls, but the rest of the batting order could not build a long partnership with Sadaqat.

Sadaqat’s 114 made up a large part of Jamaica’s final total of 170/9. His scoring rate kept the innings moving, but the regular loss of wickets meant Jamaica could not push the total closer to 190 or 200.

Sufyan Moqim produced the best bowling figures for Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. The left-arm spinner took four wickets for 14 runs in his four overs and repeatedly broke Jamaica’s partnerships during the middle overs.

While Sadaqat continued to score at one end, Moqim kept removing batters from the other. That spell reduced Jamaica’s chances of building momentum in the final five overs. Alzarri Joseph also contributed with two wickets for 27 runs, helping the Falcons restrict Jamaica to 170. Moqim was later named Player of the Match.

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons started the chase aggressively. Rahkeem Cornwall scored 20 runs from only six balls, while Evin Lewis made 38 from 26 deliveries. Their early scoring gave the Falcons control of the required run rate before the powerplay was over.

By the end of the first six overs, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons had reached 76/1. That start meant the remaining batters did not need to take unnecessary risks. Jamaica Kingsmen needed quick wickets to slow the chase, but they could not create enough pressure after the powerplay.

Amir Jangoo and Hasan Nawaz took over the chase after the early wickets. Jangoo scored an unbeaten 57 from 34 balls, while Hasan Nawaz remained not out on 47 from 35 deliveries.

Their partnership removed any remaining pressure from the chase. They rotated the strike, found boundaries when required, and did not allow Jamaica’s bowlers to build a series of dot balls. Antigua and Barbuda Falcons reached 173/2 in 16.4 overs, completing the target with 20 balls left.

Several Pakistani players had direct roles in the final. Maaz Sadaqat scored 114 for Jamaica Kingsmen, while Saim Ayub added 29. For Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, Sufyan Moqim took four wickets and Hasan Nawaz remained unbeaten on 47 during the chase.

These performances meant Pakistani players were involved in the main batting and bowling moments of the final. Sadaqat produced the highest individual score of the match, Moqim returned the best bowling figures, and Hasan Nawaz was part of the unbeaten partnership that completed the chase.

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons had already secured a direct place in the final by beating Guyana Amazon Warriors in Qualifier 1. In that match, Guyana were bowled out for 76 runs.

Sufyan Moqim and Shadab Khan took four wickets each as the Falcons controlled the innings from the start. Antigua then chased the target with nine wickets remaining, which sent them directly into the CPL 2026 final.

Jamaica Kingsmen’s total depended heavily on Maaz Sadaqat’s century. He scored 114, but the middle order did not provide enough runs around him. Because wickets kept falling, Jamaica could not turn Sadaqat’s innings into a larger team total.

Their bowlers then had to defend 170 against a Falcons side that scored 76 runs in the powerplay. Once Jangoo and Hasan Nawaz settled at the crease, the required rate remained manageable, and Jamaica had too few runs left to defend.

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons Win Their First CPL Title

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons finished the CPL 2026 final on 173/2 after 16.4 overs and won by eight wickets. Sufyan Moqim’s 4/14 limited Jamaica Kingsmen to 170/9, while Amir Jangoo and Hasan Nawaz completed the chase with an unbeaten partnership.

Maaz Sadaqat’s 114 was the highest score of the match, but it was not enough to stop Antigua and Barbuda Falcons from winning their first Caribbean Premier League championship.
