TATA IPL 2026 Ke Top 5 Highest Successful Run Chases

TATA IPL 2026 is proving to be the most destructive season in cricket history. This year, due to flat pitches, short boundaries, and modern power-hitting, no score seems safe on the scoreboard. In the past, teams used to get scared when given a target of 200 runs, but this year, the batsmen have made even impossible targets a game. Run chase becomes fun when the fans are on edge, and sixes are being hit on every ball. Let's talk about the top 5 run chases that have shaken the entire cricket world this year.

1. Punjab Kings (PBKS) – 265/4 vs Delhi Capitals

Punjab Kings set a world record in the Tata IPL 2026 by completing the biggest run chase not only of this season but in cricket history. Delhi Capitals showed no reluctance while batting first and, thanks to KL Rahul's brilliant 152*, posted a mammoth total of 264/2 on the board. Everyone thought Delhi would win this match easily.

But Punjab Kings openers Prabhsimran Singh (76 runs) and Priyansh Arya wreaked havoc as soon as they arrived, posting 116/0 in the powerplay. After his departure, captain Shreyas Iyer led from the front, scoring an unbeaten 71* off 36 balls, and chased down the target in just 18.5 overs. This match became one of the biggest and most memorable run chases in cricket history.

2. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) – 249/4 vs Mumbai Indians

In this match played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indians, batting first, posted a superb score of 243/5. Ryan Rickelton's century sent Mumbai fans into a frenzy, but little did they know that Hyderabad would come into the match with a different intention.

Sunrisers Hyderabad's dangerous batsman Heinrich Klaasen and opener Abhishek Sharma counterattacked Mumbai's bowling attack right from the start. Klaasen's explosive batting made even Jasprit Bumrah's bowling pale in comparison. SRH chased down this mammoth target by scoring 249/4 in just 18.4 overs, handing Mumbai a crushing defeat in their own backyard.

3. Delhi Capitals (DC) – 226/3 vs Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals, batting first on a fast pitch at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, posted a solid total of 225/6. Sanju Samson and his young batsmen scored runs all around the ground. Chasing a target of 226 runs on the Jaipur ground has always been a huge challenge.

But Delhi Capitals' batsmen were in no mood to give up in this match. Jake Fraser-McGurk and his top-order took full advantage of the powerplay and never let the run rate drop below 11. Delhi displayed excellent batting in this match, scoring 226/3 in just 19.1 overs to secure a seemingly easy victory.

4. Rajasthan Royals (RR) – 228/4 vs Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings, batting first at the new stadium in Mullanpur, scored 222/4. Punjab's batsmen conceded a lot of runs in the final overs, which put a lot of pressure on the Rajasthan Royals.

Rajasthan Royals had a clear strategy for this big chase. Their destructive batsmen thoroughly exploited everyone, be it spinners or fast bowlers. Thanks to Donovan Ferreira's consecutive sixes, Rajasthan completed this difficult chase by scoring 228/4 just four balls earlier, maintaining their old habit of chasing runs.

5. Mumbai Indians (MI) – 229/4 vs Lucknow Super Giants

Wankhede Stadium once again witnessed a storm of runs. Batting first, Lucknow Super Giants posted a very competitive total of 228/5. Lucknow's middle order wreaked havoc in the match, giving Mumbai's bowlers no chance to settle down.

In response, much to the delight of Mumbai Indians' fans, their batting unit turned the tables. Riding on Ryan Rickelton's explosive knocks and a superb middle-order counter-attack, Mumbai chased down the mammoth target with relative ease, scoring 229/4 in 18.4 overs. Although MI are out of the playoffs this year, their chase clearly demonstrates their dangerous batting prowess.

Tata IPL 2026 has made it abundantly clear that this format is now firmly on the batsmen's hit list. Punjab Kings' historic chase of 265 runs shows that no target is safe in cricket anymore. For bowlers, every ball has become a litmus test, where even the smallest ball goes straight to the boundary.
