About Dale Phillips
Dale Phillips is a New Zealand top-order batter whose game is built on clean timing, balance, and a willingness to keep the scoreboard moving. Born in Johannesburg and raised in New Zealand, he developed through the country’s age-group and domestic cricket systems before establishing himself with Otago and later Auckland. A right-handed batter, Phillips is comfortable opening the innings or playing in the middle order, depending on what his team requires. He prefers positive cricket, using crisp drives, cuts, and well-placed shots rather than relying only on power. His experience in first-class and limited-overs competitions has helped him become more adaptable against both pace and spin. Phillips is also a capable fielder who brings energy to the side.
