HBL PSL 11 2026 Updated Schedule 2026: New Venues & Timings

The mere mention of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) sets every Pakistani's heart racing. Every year, we wait for the stadium lights to be lit and for our favorite players to score. But the year of PSL 11 (2026) has brought a different story. While fans were previously preparing to watch matches in six cities, the PCB has surprised everyone by suddenly releasing an updated schedule.
This schedule change wasn't just due to a whim, but because of the ongoing national fuel crisis in the country and the worsening situation in West Asia. Pakistan is currently facing a chronic shortage of petrol and electricity, due to which the government has decided to impose "Austerity Measures." This has directly affected our beloved PSL. In today's blog, we will discuss in detail what is the new schedule of PSL 11, why the venues have changed, and what changes have occurred in the match timings.
The shift to a "two-city" format: why only Lahore and Karachi?
According to the original plan, PSL 11 was to be held in six cities of Pakistan – Peshawar, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi. Fans were very happy that this time the PSL would also be held in the Arbab Niaz Stadium and Iqbal Stadium. But unfortunately, the fuel crisis has made this dream a little dim.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi explained that holding the tournament in six cities meant constant travel for the teams and broadcast crews. This travel would have consumed thousands of gallons of fuel, which was a burden on the national treasury in the current situation. Therefore, to save fuel and resources, the PCB decided to play the entire tournament at just two venues: Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, and National Bank Stadium, Karachi. These two cities were chosen because logistics and security are easier to handle, and teams will not have to travel much.
Matches Behind Closed Doors: The Hard Truth About an Empty Stadium
This time, the biggest and most troublesome aspect of PSL 11 is that the matches will be played "Behind Closed Doors". This means that no fan will be able to go to the stadium and watch the match. This decision has been taken on the instructions of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who has requested the public to keep unnecessary movements to a minimum to save fuel.
When thousands of people come to the stadium, extra security, transport, and lighting of the stadium's barricades are arranged for them. All these things consume a lot of energy and fuel. Therefore, keeping "national interest" in mind, the stadium doors have been closed to fans. While we will miss the "roar" of the stadium, this decision has been deemed necessary for the betterment of the country.
Official Match Timings for Plus 11: When will the matches start?
Along with changing the schedule, PCB has also finalized the match timings so that fans can get free from their work at home and sit in front of the TV.
Standard Night Matches
Most of the matches of PSL 11 will start at 7:00 PM (PST). This time has been kept so that people can come back from their office and work and enjoy the match peacefully.
Double Headers (Two Matches in a Day)
On the day when there are two matches, the first match will start at 2:30 PM (PST) and the second match will be held at the same old time i.e. 7:00 PM.
The Big Opening Match:
The first match of the tournament, between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen, will begin at 8:00 PM (PST) on March 26, 2026. The timing has been postponed due to the presence of a number of opening ceremonies.
Revised Venue Distribution: 44 Matches
Since the number of venues has been reduced from six to two, the PCB has divided the 44 matches equally between Lahore and Karachi.
Lahore (Gaddafi Stadium)
Lahore will host a total of 22 matches. Most importantly, both Qualifier 1 and the Grand Final (May 3) will be played in Lahore. Lahore fans are fortunate to have both the start and end of the tournament in their city.
Karachi (National Bank Stadium)
Karachi will also host 22 matches, including the Eliminators. The Karachi pitch has always been batting-friendly, so fans will expect to see even scores. The matches between the two cities have been distributed in such a way that there is no excessive burden on the pitch of any one stadium and the flow of the tournament is maintained.
The Impact on 8 Franchises: New Teams and New Challenges
PSL 11 isliye bhi tareekhi hai kyunke is baar total 8 teams maidan mein utar rahi hain. Do nayi franchises Hyderabad Kingsmen aur Faisalabad Falcons—ne is league ki hype ko mazeed barha diya hai.
However, due to a shortage of venues, teams like Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans will not be able to play at their "home grounds." Multan fans are very disappointed because the atmosphere at Multan Stadium is always amazing. Similarly, Peshawar fans who have been waiting for the Arbab Niaz Stadium will have to be patient once again. This is also a challenge for the players as they will have to constantly adapt to the atmosphere of two cities and give their 100% in an empty stadium without fans.
Broadcast and Digital Experience: Stadium-like Feel at Home?
PCB knows that fans are disappointed about not being able to go to the stadium. That is why he has promised that this time the broadcast quality will be brought to the best standards in the world.
Ultra HD Coverage:
Matches will be shown in 4K and Ultra HD so that fans can see every ball and every boundary clearly.
Spider-Cam and Drone Views:
Taking advantage of the empty stadium, PCB will make increased use of drone cameras to provide fans with never-before-seen angles.
Enhanced Sound:
With no fans in the stadium, PCB will use artificial crowd sound and improved stump mic technology to give viewers a "live stadium" feel.
The Road to the Final: 3 May Fight
The new schedule for PSL 11 is quite tight. Starting on March 26, it will conclude on May 3, 2026. The final match will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
All eight teams will face each other twice over the course of 44 matches. The top four teams will advance to the playoffs. The playoff format will remain the same: Qualifier 1, Eliminator 1, Eliminator 2, and then the Grand Final. Experts say that the empty stadiums will eliminate "home advantage," and only the team that plays better cricket will win.
Conclusion:
Finally, we'll say that even if the lights are dim and the stadiums are empty in PSL 11, the passion for cricket can never diminish. PSL is not just a tournament, it's our identity. This decision by the PCB was necessary to support the national economy during these difficult times.
Fans should turn their homes into stadiums, watch matches with friends and family, and fully support their teams on social media. This year may be a year of "austerity," but the competition on the field will be as close to nail-biting as ever.
So get ready for March 26th! Get your snacks ready, turn up the TV volume, and enjoy the cricket according to the new schedule of PSL 11.
