Govt Gives Permission for Fans in PSL 11 Playoffs & Final 2026

Pakistan cricket fans have received some truly wonderful and heartening news! Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has officially allowed fans to enter the stadiums for the playoff matches and final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11.
Remember, the situation at the beginning of PSL 11 was quite varied. The tensions between the USA and Iran, along with the threat of war, had led to a fuel crisis in Pakistan. To control the fuel crisis and to comply with the country's austerity measures, the Pakistan Government had taken a firm decision that neither the PSL opening ceremony would be held nor would fans be allowed to watch the matches in the stadiums.
But now, following the strong opposition of franchise owners and the passion of cricket fans, with the efforts of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, PM Shahbaz Sharif has given the order to open the doors of the stadiums. This is no less than a gift for the fans as they will now be able to go to the grounds and enjoy live coverage of their favorite stars and high-voltage playoff matches.
Mohsin Naqvi's request and PM's decision
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi recently met with PM Shahbaz Sharif and told him that matches like the playoffs and finals are inaccessible to fans. PM Shahbaz Sharif, himself a cricket fan, accepted the request and allowed crowds for not only the final but all three playoff matches.
Mohsin Naqvi shared this good news on his X account, saying that the PM has given this permission for the convenience of fans, so that they can watch their favorite stars live.
Austerity Condition and Fuel Saving
Although permission has been granted, the government has imposed a specific condition on fans. Considering the country's ongoing energy crisis and the austerity drive, fans have been asked to attend the stadium:
- Use public transportation.
- Keep fuel consumption in private vehicles to a minimum.
These measures are necessary because Phase 11 was already limited to Karachi and Lahore instead of six cities due to the fuel crisis.
PSL 11 Playoff Schedule & Venues
Now that France has been given permission, the Ploieux fair will be filled with even more colour and light.
