Aaron Hardie PSL 11 Final Player of the Match (427 & 56)

The final of HBL PSL 11 (2026) has become one of those cricket matches that people will remember for centuries. When the lights went on at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, everyone's eyes were on Babar Azam, but fate had someone else crowned "Superstar" that night. That name was Aaron Hardie.

This 27-year-old all-rounder from Australia did what even the most prominent foreign players couldn't in his very first PSL season. He wreaked such havoc with both bat and ball in the final that Peshawar Zalmi became PSL champions again after nine years. If we look at the entire tournament of PSL 11, Aaron Hardie appears to be the most consistent overseas player. When Peshawar Zalmi picked him in the draft, many people thought that he might be a player for UAE or Australian pitches, but Hardie proved his mettle on Pakistani pitches.

Hardie is not just a bowler who bats, or a batsman who bowls, he is a genuine all-rounder. Throughout the entire tournament, he took wickets at crucial moments and when the team's batting line-up collapsed, he finished the innings with a "cool head".

Peshawar Zalmi faced Hyderabad Kingsmen in the final. Kingsmen's batting line-up was the most dangerous throughout the tournament. Babar Azam handed the ball to Aaron Hardie. Hardie bowled so accurately in his four-over spell that Kingsmen's big batsmen looked helpless. He took four crucial wickets and conceded just 27 runs. Due to his clinical bowling, Hyderabad Kingsmen, who were facing a target of 180+, were restricted to just 129 runs. Hardie rattled the top order and did not allow the tail-enders to survive in the death overs.

Seeing the target of 130 runs, everyone thought that Babar Azam and Saim Ayub would chase comfortably. But cricket is the name of "Uncertainty". By the time the power play ended, the faces of Zalmi fans fell. Peshawar Zalmi's four big pillars, Babar Azam, Mohammad Haris, Michael Bracewell and Kusal Mendis had returned to the pavilion with just 40 runs. It seemed that Zalmi would lose the final once again.

In this difficult time, Aaron Hardie took charge of the batting front. He showed that "Never Give Up" attitude is in the Australian DNA. Without any pressure, he took singles-doubles and hit boundaries on bad balls. He played an unbeaten innings of 56 runs. Every shot he hit brimmed with confidence, and his batting captivated the Zalmi fans in the stadium.

When 4 wickets fell, Hardie needed a partner who could stay at the wicket. Young Abdul Samad supported him there. The two shared a partnership of 85 runs, which took the match away from Hyderabad Kingsmen. Hardie guided Samad and played aggressive cricket himself. This partnership was the real reason that made Zalmi the champion after 9 years.
